Run the GWD Kids 2km Fun Run 12 years and under

Start and Finish at the Marakura Yacht Club

Start time 11.30am.

This is a fun event for children under 12 along the lakefront, all finishers will receive a
medal & free sausage. Family and friends are welcome to run alongside entrants.

Essential information for your race

Pre Race Info

Held in August, it’s a 2km run that starts and finishes at the Marakura Yacht Club.

Start time 11:30am, family and friends are welcome to run alongside entrants. children under 5 it is recommended to have an adult run along side

Marshalls will be spotted along course and at turnaround point

Refunds 

  • Withdrawals up to 01 July 2024 will receive an 80% refund (or defer to 2025 event, and incur a $20 administration fee)
  • Withdrawals from 02 July to noon on 31st July 2024 will receive a 25% refund (or defer to 2025 event, and incur a $20 administration fee)
  • There will be no refunds or deferments after 01 August 2024
  • Any request for a refund must be made in writing to events@teanauevents.co.nz

 

 Entry Transfer

  • Transfer of a registration to another person is only available up to 01 August 2024, and will incur a $20 administration fee.
  • Athletes who have deferred into this event from a previous year or entered through the use of a complimentary entry are not eligible for athlete withdrawal refunds.
  • Any request for a transfer must be made in writing to events@teanauevents.co.nz.

 

 Cancellation policy

  • In the event of cancellation of the race due to any adversity, be it weather, flooding or any other force majeure, including restrictions due to Covid 19, the organising committee reserves the right to decide whether to defer entries to the 2025 event (after which point there would be no refunds), and/or to make arrangements for entrants to request an 80% This will be communicated to all participants via email.

Bibs

Safety pins will be provided for the bibs. Bibs to be collected at Fun Run start line from 30min before race starts

Parking at the finish line can be found around the DOC visitor Centre, Ivon Wilson Parking area and along the roadside.

Family and friends are welcome to run alongside entrants

Post Race Info

All finishers will receive a medal & free sausage!

Prize giving will be once all kids have crossed the finish line.

Spot Prizes will be given out at finish line and/or prize giving
