Upukerora Trail

Ride, walk or run alongside the South Island’s largest lake, with incredible views across to the Murchison Mountains as you make your way from the Te Anau boat harbour to over the Upukerora suspension bridge – 5km. Continue along the new trail for 1.9km to Patience Bay beach, then head up to Sinclair Road a further 1.6km, soaking in the expansive views on offer where there is a ‘Trail End’ sign.
From here, turn back and ride back to Te Anau Township.
- Ride along the edge of the stunning Lake Te Anau
- Look out to the the UNESCO World Heritage Fiordland National Park
- Cross the Upukerora on purpose built suspension bridge
- Continue along the new trail for 1.9km to Patience Bay beach, then head up the new trail section to Sinclair Road a further 1.6km, soaking in the expansive views on offer
