In 2019, pre covid when Te Anau was near capacity during the summer months, Winter seemed the ideal time, as days although crisp and cold are usually dryer. It was also a great time of year avoiding clashes with more popular events and so the event was born.
Now in it’s 3rd year and growing fast, we have added a 10km option and moved the finish line to the town centre.
New to 2021, a 10km & town centre finish line.
With Mt Titiroa behind you and the World Heritage Fiordland National Park to your left, the scenery will entertain even the seasoned runner.
The route follows the Upper Waiau River and the stunning lake front before reaching Te Anau.
Fiordland known for its wilderness and breathtaking scenery is the stunning and spectacular backdrop for this event.
Running under the snow capped mountains, through sections of beech forests and along the crystal clear Waiau River to finish up at the Lakefront town of Te Anau.
