It depends entirely on you! E-bike and mountain bike times will obviously vary, and it will also depend on the level of fitness. Generally, on a mountain-bike you can expect the full trail to take anywhere from two to five hours. 

The trails are all rated Grade 2 (easy). They are mostly 2.2m wide, with a mix of gravel and forest trail. The Lake2Lake trail has some undulations, while the Upukerora Loop Trail is flat. 

You can start the Lake2Lake trail at Manapouri, or in Te Anau either on the lakefront, or beside the Marakura Yacht Club. The trail can be travelled in either direction.

Absolutely! You can walk, run, take a pram – whatever you prefer. Just remember to stay left and keep an eye out for cyclists. 

Yes, dogs are allowed on the trail but they must be on lead. Dogs are not permitted in the Fiordland National Park so they must not cross over the bridge at Rainbow Reach or the Control Gates.

Its total length is 28.5km. This includes a 4km stretch on the State Highway.
